Where can you see the hottest new play, a legendary rock band, and fly along a zip line 20 stories above the ground all in just a few days? If you guessed Las Vegas, than you are spot on! If you’ve ever been to Las Vegas, than you know that the excitement that the famous city is tangible. It’s impossible to be bored from the moment you arrive to the moment you depart. So, when Infosys Inc., a frequent client of mine, asked me to bring my talent to the IBM Interconnect 2015 convention and trade show, I couldn’t say “yes” quickly enough.
IBM Interconnect is held annually at the MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay hotels and draws crowds in excess of twenty thousand people every year. This convention brings together the leading companies of the communications and cloud-computing trades. With such astonishing attendance numbers, it felt like I was drawing from dawn until dusk every day without stopping. However, the Vegas Strip doesn’t come alive until the sun goes down and the real excitement begins.
I saw the outrageously funny parody-play “Spank!” based on the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie and book. I couldn’t stop laughing from beginning to end. I also lived life on the edge for a moment when I rode on the Voodoo Zip Line on top of the towers of the Rio Hotel – a 500 foot ride suspended 20 stories up in the air! If that wasn’t enough excitement, I couldn’t come to Las Vegas without seeing a top-notch concert. By top notch, I saw none other than the incomparable Aerosmith! This trip certainly topped my list of best business adventures.
