Kualas, Roos, and Ca-tures!

Good day, mate! This is my first post since getting back from my two-week Australian adventure! I was asked to join my friends from Infosys for the Telstra Vantage Conference in Melbourne to draw live digital caricatures during the three-day event. I was thrilled to have this opportunity and knew that I had to make this trip into something more than business.

Although the conference was just three days, I knew I needed more time to take in everything that Australia had to offer. I flew into Sydney and spent a week there touring the Opera House, climbing the Sydney Eye Tower and the Sydney Bridge, and took a long tour to explore the Three Sisters. On my last day in Sydney, Cherie, a new meet-up friend, took me for a ride in her Mazda convertible to see the coastal beaches and stopped to have lunch where the sea planes land and pelicans fly around. Next, I was off to Melbourne for the Telstra Vantage conference and more Aussie adventure.

After flying to Melbourne, I was very surprised to find that I had been upgraded to the Prince Albert Suite of the Windsor Hotel. I got to see the wild Kuala bears and pelicans on Raymond Island and the kangaroos at Eagle Point. My friend, Sue, came to Melbourne to take me round the city and see Bairnsdale and meet friends of hers.

The Telstra Vantage Conference in Melbourne is a three-day-long, high-energy conference focusing on the media and telecommunication industry in Australia, hosted by Australia’s largest network company, Telstra Corporation Limited. I was drawing non-stop for three days and loving every minute of it. The people of Australia are extremely polite and kind, and they made me feel so at home in their country.
