Given my line of work, I’m no stranger to international travel. My artwork has taken me as far as India, Japan, and the Middle East, but today marked a bit of a turning point for sending my work across the world. Using modern video conference technology, I gave an interview to an art class in Ankara, Turkey while at my home in Pennsylvania. With the assistance of an English translator, Deniz Kandemir, and art teacher Mehmet Saim Bilge invited me to speak to his class about my artwork and business.
I spent the next 20 minutes answering questions from Mehmet Saim Bilge and his students regarding the techniques I employ for drawing digital caricatures, as well as how my career in drawing began and the awards I have received. Being able to share my knowledge and skills with these young art students so far away was such a fulfilling and gratifying experience. Knowing how important it is to be inspired as an artist, and I hope I was able to provide some inspiration to them as they hone their skills and strive to leave their mark in the art world.
